Since when ST is (once again) free?

It wasn't long again when the ST interactive became a free membership service; it was also not long again when ST online became a charged service. Today I clicked on my old links by mistake and it took me to the actual full content of the news of ST news. That's how I realised that ST is free once again. But I wasn't too happy with it. I remember I read something when in my NUS days, "Don't fix it when it's not broken."
