Two Stories

Story (1)

A mice hunts for cheese in a house. However, when the mice goes cheese hunting, it's not always successful, sometimes it got chases away, if not caught. But the mice still carries on hunting for cheese even though the hunting is not always successful. Why? because the mice knows that when you go for hunting, it's not always sucessful, but if you don't go and search for the cheese, you can never get one. So, should you go out and search for the cheese? Or, should you rather wait inside the cage, waiting for the people to feed you? You decide.

Story (2)

About a month ago, I tried to compose a Chinese SMS, using my limited Chinese input skill. If I'm not wrong, a phone can send at most 80 characters. After much effort, I managed to squeeze my message into a single SMS, such that the phone doesn't complain, then I sent it.

Then I few days ago, I sent another SMS, and I found that this Chinese SMS never got sent (because the icon of the SMS doesn't show that the SMS is sent, later further confirmed thru phone call). Since I spent so much time writing the message, I decided to sent again, with some editting. I threw away things that are not relavent anymore, and the edited message got sent thru, (the original message never got sent because it was accepted by the telco, because of the message length). This time round, the SMS got sent, because it was short. It's just an SMS of 13 characters, cut from 79 characters.

Moral of the story?
Sometimes, when the time factor matters, it is useless to re-do it, because everything will be different. Just like this SMS of 79 characters, got cut down to only 13 characters, the situation is never be the same again.
